VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

 

A. SUMMARY

TIMOR GAP, E.P. is Timor-Leste’s National Oil Company, established in 2011 under Decree Law No. 31/2011. Its main objective is to act on behalf of the State in conducting business within the petroleum and gas sector, with operations ranging from onshore to offshore, both nationally and internationally.

B. VACANT POSITIONS

 

  1. Travel Officer – One Position

Main Responsibilities: The Travel Officer provides support in managing travel arrangements and administrative tasks, ensuring efficient, accurate, and client-focused service. The role includes coordinating flights, accommodation, and transport, preparing travel itineraries, communicating with clients and vendors, handling expense reports, and performing general administrative duties. The Travel Officer also supports visa processing, travel logistics, and budgeting, while maintaining high-quality service and carrying out additional tasks as assigned by the Travel Manager.

Qualifications and Other Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field and have a minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in travel coordination, administration, or logistics, with experience in travel booking, itinerary planning, and vendor management considered an advantage. The candidate must demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking skills, work well under pressure, and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). With high attention to detail, accuracy in bookings and documentation, excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, and a proactive, client-focused approach committed to delivering high-quality results.

  1. Project Drilling Engineer for TIMOR GAP Onshore Block – One Position

Main Responsibilities: The Project Drilling Engineer supports the Managing Director in overseeing drilling operations and the day-to-day management of the subsidiary. The role includes monitoring drilling and workover rig operations, coordinating manpower and equipment, reviewing technical and financial documents, and tracking drilling performance. The position also involves supporting field operations, preparing technical reports, and coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling activities.

 

Qualifications and Other Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, Drilling Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 3–5 years of relevant drilling experience, including at least 1 year in onshore drilling operations. A master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience is an advantage. Candidates must have strong technical expertise in well design, casing design, directional drilling, pore/fracture pressure modelling, and cementing, as well as experience with software such as COMPASS, WellPlan, and StressCheck. Strong project management knowledge, excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work in a diverse team environment are essential.

  1. Graduate Internship Program (GIP) for Project Administration and Finance Support for TIMOR GAP Onshore Block – One Position

Main Responsibilities: The GIP supports the Managing Director in administrative and financial functions, including preparing reports and proposals, organizing meetings, maintaining filing systems, and assisting in reviewing documents. The role also involves coordination with business units, supporting field activities, and ensuring efficient operational support within the subsidiary. The intern will also coordinate with relevant business units, support field activities when required, and perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient operations within TIMOR GAP Onshore Block, Unipessoal Limitada.

 

Qualifications and Other Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in petroleum management, Petroleum Engineering, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields. Candidates with at least one (1) year of relevant work experience are preferred. The candidate should have a general understanding of the oil and gas sector, knowledge in administration and finance/accounting systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Office 365).
