Since the creation of TIMOR GAP, we have attracted the right talent in order to reach our full potential. We firmly believe that having established a strong institutional and executive leadership foundation over the years has been fundamental to our ability to respond and adapt to the significant changes and upcoming challenges ahead, including economic and social recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Our Employees

We are proud of the outstanding group of diverse and dedicated individuals who work within and with our company. We truly care about empowering employees and helping to build the communities in which we operate. We strive to provide them with opportunities to further develop their professional skills as we move toward achieving our mission as an organization.
85% of our employees have either achieved or are working towards a higher education degree, and most of our employees have academic and practical expertise in highly technical fields, including engineering and business operations. 

As of July 2022, we have 134 employees, 72% of whom are male and 28% of whom are female. Both our total headcount and the share of women working at TIMOR GAP are expected to gradually rise in the next few years following the growth and development of our diverse business lines, as well as our asset portfolio.  As a State-owned company, we prioritize and primarily recruit from our national talent pool, as 93% of our employees are Timorese citizens. The remaining 7% consists of expatriate staff contracted to fill the technical skill void that nationals are unable to fulfill.

TIMOR GAP will continue investing in its people and helping them develop the right skills and capabilities needed to build a successful team. This also applies with our partners who have adhered to our robust local content strategy in order to guarantee that Timorese talent is being developed and deployed.  For example, our projects on the ground, including Suai Fuel Station and Suai Airport Jet Fuel Depot, exclusively employ local staff, fully trained by our business partners.
