Local Content

TIMOR GAP’s mission focuses on creating additional value for oil and gas development through job creation and business opportunities as well as securing energy and contributing to social and economic development in Timor-Leste. As TG is responsible for managing  the oil and gas resources in Timor-Leste as mandated by the Government, we have the ability to enact real changes and benefits for the Timorese people.

We will continue to strive to uphold our commitment to maximizing the local content participation in our projects, and an early focus on training nationals to ensure the required skills are available. A local content plan is a key requirement under our agreements, contracts and negotiations with Joint Venture and business partners. Projects developed in the field, such as Suai Fuel Station and Suai Airport Jet Fuel Depot employ exclusively local staff, fully trained with our business partners on the performance of their job duties and responsibilities.

Ultimately, our goal is to aid in the economic development of Timor-Leste by providing jobs, building new infrastructure, and attracting new services and manufacturing activities. We have already developed and invested in the following programs:

  • TIMOR GAP Commitment to the Community Impact Management
  • TIMOR GAP Society and Community Development Project
  • Community Investment Project with MILINIUM GREEN AGRO, Lda.
  • Sunrise Joint Venture Social Investment Program

The Tasi Mane Project

The Tasi Mane Project has a direct economic and social impact, particularly on the country’s southern corridor. As the project has allowed the development of critical infrastructure, including the Suai Airport, the Betano Refinery Cluster and the Beaço LNG Plant Complex, the area is poised to become a center for logistics and talent development, enhancing the livelihood and job opportunities for the Timorese.
