VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

A. SUMMARY

TIMOR GAP, E.P. is the Timor-Leste’s National Oil Company which was established in 2011 under the Decree Law no. 31/2011. Its main objective is to act on behalf of the State, in conducting business within the petroleum and gas sector. Its activities vary from Onshore to Offshore and national to international.

B. VACANT POSITIONS

1. National Legal Advisor – One Position

Main Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and assistance to TIMOR GAP and its subsidiaries, upstream, downstream and Parent company units. He/she is required to assist and support TIMOR GAP subsidiaries in negotiating commercial agreements and JOAs with potential partners. The national legal advisor is required to have a thorough understanding on Petroleum tax law, petroleum activity law, Labor Law, commercial law and all other laws and regulations relevant to TIMOR GAP operations.
Qualifications and Other Requirements: Master’s degree in law, with minimum 7 years of relevant and proven experience in Legal field, preferably in oil and gas & commercial areas as required; experience working in Timor-Leste and having a knowledge of country’s Oil and Gas sector will be an advantage.

2. International Legal Advisor – One Position

Main Responsibilities: Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the company, draft and review all types of agreements, including MOUs, letter of engagement, service agreements, fuel supply agreements, sales and purchase agreements, employment agreements, commercial agreements, Farm-Up agreements, joint-operating agreements (JOAs) and production sharing contracts (PSCs). The international legal advisor is required to provide legal support to TIMOR GAP subsidiaries in the PSC application process and PSC negotiations with the ANP and relevant Ministries.
Qualifications and Other Requirements: Master’s degree in law, with minimum 10 years of relevant and proven experience in Legal field, preferably in oil and gas & commercial areas as required; experience working in Timor-Leste and having a knowledge of country’s Oil and Gas sector will be an advantage.

C. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must meet the following requirements: Proficiency in English and Portuguese, both written and oral communications; must comply with the required qualifications, as indicated in each position. Knowledge of other languages is a plus. Women applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
